Anyone that has ordered one, what did you order and what has youre wait time been, what have you been told? did you get yours?

I just placed an order for a black one 6spd, told a few months...

We just put deposit down on one. I don't guess it is really an order as they told us it was "on the ship" currently. We were told it should arrive at the dealership by the end of the month but they would be able to let us know better when the vehicle arrived at the port. Buying a 4X4 automatic, titanium with roof rack.

Orders seem to be taking six to eight weeks.

On the other hand, dealers also know (sometimes more, sometimes less) what is on the way. They may be able to put you into something they've got coming in, in which case the wait time is less.

If you're looking for a six-speed, you may be in luck. I've heard from more than one dealership that there are dealers trying to trade their manual rigs for the (easier to sell) automatics. You might want to check with the fleet department at your dealership and see if they can check around to see if another dealer is trying to unload their manual.

On Saturday (8th) I bought a SunF Auto C pkg, swapped the running boards for rock rails, also got the DVD, Sill protection, hood deflector, dual rear door cargo nets and an electronic rust prevention system. The dealership is expecting it on their lot on the 18th and they should be done with my add-ons etc by the 21st (my p/u date).

Only 9 more sleeps!

;)

There is a silver one sitting on the Emporia, Ks. Toyota dealers lot as of 3 pm today. I looked it over, but not too close, I did notice that it didn't have a SOLD sign on it, yet.

You're lucky. I ordered in May of 05. They accepted the deposit in September and I saw my first one at the car show in December. It finally arrived on the 21st of March. After driving it a month it is worth the wait.

What the heck is an electronic rust prevention system?

The reply above is correct... It is a system that is powered by your battery that sends a very small current through your vehicle all the time. Part of the system has two sacrificial anodes that mount at the ends of the vehicle, these are supposed to oxidize instead of the truck's metal. They need to be cleaned off a couple of times a year and that's about it. It comes with a lifetime guarantee against rust. Apparently they use a similar system on ocean ships.

Here is a link that better describes the process...
