Ok ordered bearings for tranny. So can I get all bearings changed without having to take gears off shafts? It's in a 85 4runner. They are really starting to whine ..... But 4th gear

I did mine myself.
You need a 20 ton press and a special tool / home fab tool to pull off 5th gear.
I bought my press from harbor freight. (200 bucks)
As for special fifth gear puller tool, I made mine. Basically a piece of round stock with a slot cut into it, so if fits over shaft behind the gear, and a recess cut into it to "cup" the edges of 5th gear.
otherwise you will most like chip a tooth off trying to pull it.

Ok, thanks...... I'm gonna do the clutch kit and I figured while I had it down. Whine is getting really old in all gears but 4th.
