yea... I am going to do that.... got one and fit it on there last night so going to go back today and get the diode

thanks.... I have read alot of threads... still have not found one that is easy to follow... or one that I can say I truely understand what I am doing yet.... do you have a suggestion?

Here are the two threads that helped me get through my install.

If I were you, I would take a good look at the CS-130/144. Also note that newer Sequoia's and Tundras are available with an alternator that makes something like 150 amps. If you are interested in that route, search in the 80 series forum under the username "photoman" for more info.

I would stay away from hopped up aftermarket units. They tend often have lower idle output in the interest of huge numbers at higher rpms. They can also get too hot and kill themselves. I got my 94 amp 12SI off Ebay because there was no core charge.

so if you use a GM style alt. then you have to bypass this correct
