My LX570 is currently in for chrome delete. It was $350 to have the lower door trim, rear hatch chrome, chrome below the windows, side view mirror chrome and the chrome on the front grille. They were unable to get the vinyl to stick to the rest of the grille so we're just going to paint it. Decided on Satin Black vinyl since the paint is metallic. I'll post pics after I pick it up.

Where did you take it in Denver? Oops. Nevermind I see you gave the shop name in a later post. Well done!

I got a number of quotes in Denver between $350 and $1000. $400-550 was about average to do all the chrome on a 2013 LX570.

I'm in Denver and looking to have this done right. Did you end up getting it done?

@milescantwell Yes, you can see pics of the white LX570 in an earlier post by @Kashflyer , who is my fiancee. All Aspect Garage did the work and overall I'm very happy with the vinyl wrap / chrome delete job. There are two little transition spots they missed and one molding piece where the film pulled back from a corner that I'm going to have them correct. I'm very picky and that was all I've seen that wasn't perfect.

Just warp it yourself. I did it as a quarantine project. The front grille was the easiest. I just painted the rear emblem with Krylon + 2x clear spray can. Have fun!

I got mine done this week. Scuffed, clean, prime paint clear coat. Really happy with the result so far. Had the back done, the mirrors and the window belt moldings.

yes, mine was the same. new belt, idler and pulley fixed it. My advice is to just replace the parts and be done with it, don't waste your money paying for a diagnostic at the dealer.
2013 chrome delete completed by team at Barnes Signs in North Alabama. drew on some 'inspiration' from the 2019 LX570 Inspiration series and left the spot above the license plate in rear. really liking the outcome! Next up is tires.

Update: ended up going back a week later and blacking out that chrome bar on the rear hatch as well. its holding up nicely! He just mentioned probably shouldnt run through car washes anymore. Strictly hand washing.

We go through the car wash all the time with no issues. I did have a branch cut one of the door handles wrap during a run but other than that the wrap has held up well for the past 9 months.

Got mine done. Painted per @ericsarjeant instructions. Did the back, and mirrors in gloss, window belting moldings in matte. Really like it.

View attachment 2310350looks great. I have a black HE as well and did the side view mirrors and the window trim. Thinking of doing front and rear chrome now. Curious why you left the front alone? How is the paint holding up after 1 year + of wear and tear?

I have heard Hyperdip is good to use instead of paint because it remains a bit flexible and resists rock chips better than paint. Anyone have any experience with this product? Also for those that have painted what is the best way to prep the pieces? Is there a primer for plastic that ensures paint adherence?
Thank you, just picked up a 2018 LC and the chrome is bad on it but was planning to black out anyway.

I've hydro dipped some stuff and the finish is fairly durable. This is especially true if you hit it with some sort of clearcoat after the dip is satisfactory.

I'd recommend you practice a few times before you go full send with your LC trim pieces. Get something you don't care about of similar size/shape and give it a few tries. It's not as easy as it looks unfortunately and takes time to get anything close to good in doing.

hydrodip.com is a good place to start for all your dipping needs and technical questions. They'll steer you straight on what you need depending on substrates, films, basecoats, etc.
