Hi,

As part of my frame off restoration I stored my beige colored vinyl seats on a pallet, where unfortunately, another vehicle piece with underbody wax coating squeezed agaist the seat for approx 1 year.

Now there is a brown spot (size = Ø2 centimeters) and it does not seem to go away. I tried naphta=kerosene which usually is great at removing wax and grease, but this stain seems to have gotten into the vinyl itself.

Is there any way of removing that brown, waxy/greasy stain?

Here in the US, we have a product called "Goof off" that is used to remove paint, grease, glue, candle wax, etc. I have used it to remove paint transfer (scratches) on car fenders, tape residue, etc. pretty successfully. I have never tried the product on stained vinyl, though.

The safety data sheet for the "pro-strength remover" product shows it is mostly acetone.
