Buying a 2000 LC. The title number and VIN check out with FL DMV. Autocheck VIN check online matches everything the owner says about the car.

HOWEVER - Toyota's VIN check says this Gray 2000 with 116K on it is actually a Green one with 175K. Nothing I have seen indicates that this is the case, all my checks with official documentation matches up.

Has anyone ever seen Toyota mess this up? I'm supposed to be buying this LC tonight, and I realized I forgot to check for service records, and now I am a tad concerned.

Thanks!

Yes!

I logged in right after mine was serviced once and it said I had a Tacoma. It also said my name was Steve.

I was really annoyed because my truck has this incredibly detailed serviced history (the woman who owned it would hear a suspicious noise, tech could not replicate). I mean, pages and pages worth of history, some of it funny...and now I was Steve, driving a Taco.

So I figured I would call about it in the morning. But in the morning I checked back in and everything was there. And I was back to being Kristy, with an LC.

This doesn't sound exactly like your experience but I do think that the website screws up, somehow, every once in awhile.

Same as CatskillsRunner for me. Except I went to log back in the next day and there were two UZJ100s under my Garage. For two weeks after this it would not allow me to login to check records. Finally one day I checked and everything was back to normal again. It is probably a very large Database on the backend and it tends to get messed up from time to time. I would just continue to check until you get the history you are looking for.

Congrats! Even if it needs a bit of work to baseline, I am sure you will love it. Whenever we give my daughter the option of what vehicle to take she always picks the cruiser!
