My truck starts up fine usually but the other day when I parked it and restarted it took a long time to fire up. It would turn but dosesnt seem like it's getting fuel.

I did some research and it could be caused the built up pressure in the tank/fuel system. Every time I open my gas cap, it's under pressure and tons of air come out.

What should I chase down first to release this pressure? I don't have a FSM yet.

My tank releases a "bit" of pressure overtime I make a trip to the pump, but I don't have any start issues.

Pressure in the tank wouldn't make it hard to start. Its easy to test, next time its hard to start, release the pressure from the tank.
Is it a 60 or 62 series? If its a carbed 60 series ,check the window on the carb for fuel before you start it. I think its supposed to be half full.

X2 charcoal canister. I gutted and refilled mine not long ago and no more 'whoosh!'

gas cap and canister as noted. Vapor lock issues are generally considered to be related to engine heat or "heat soak" of the fuel on or near the carb in the engine compartment, but you could have similar impacts downstream of the engine if fuel hoses or fuel hard line exposed to heat sources, but thats unlikely in a stock vehicle.

Reversing the hoses on the canister should take care of the tank pressure

If he isn't desmoged like mine is... the purge line is hooked to nothing since someone plugged it where it would be attached to a VCV2 on the drivers side.
