Is anyone in the group using Valvoline 75x90 Synthetic for Limited Slip?

I don't want to start a religious oil debate. I'm running M 1 synthetic for LS 75x90 in the front, transfer and rear LSD diffs. Harrop recommends 75x90 for the front.

Here's the catch, I change diff fluids and lube u-joints more often than most people because I do water/mud crossings at least once a month. The average length of time between changes is 3 months. I don't use the 100 for anything but off-road. Its just intended to be a daily driver.

I've used Redline, M1, Lucas, Valvoline for transmission fluid. Since I change fluids frequently, they're all good to me. No complaints from any lube for that matter.

I'm looking to increase the packaging size to at least a gallon. I would probably do better with a 5-gallon bucket and a good pumping system.

I'm not trying to penny pinch, but the price is decent and the container is large.

Any experiences with the group using this product?

I used the Valvoline synthetic on my 80 a few years back. Worked fine. I get the impression from reading too many of these threads over the years that the differentials on these trucks don't complain much, no matter what modern gear oil you put in them. Toyota specifies SAE 90 or 80W90, depending on temperature, in a GL5 Hypoid fluid. You'd be hard-pressed to find something being sold at a reputable chain or even online these days that doesn't meet that spec, and there are likely hundreds of people here running Mobil1 75W90 in both diffs and TC with no issues. I'm sure the Valvoline 75W90 will be fine. Your 99 LX should have the LSD rear, as you list in your sig, and with your Harrop eLocker in the front, LS fluid would be fine in both.

Using that right now, and will probably start going by the 5G bucket in the future. Milwaukee makes a great fluid transfer pump that would make using the 5G bucket easy.

I run this or the Mobil1 fluid, just depends on which is cheaper when it's time to change the oils again. Twice yearly except in case of river crossings, which are not a big thing out here.

I've never used their gear oil, but I'm a fan of some of their products. Years back, I used M1 motor oil in a turbo-charged Audi. The turbo heated the oil up really good, and the oil tended to lose viscosity to the point that the valves would tick loudly. I switched the oil over to Valvoline, and it all went away immediately.

I'm switching over to Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90 which is supposed to perform great even with water contamination. Something like that would be great for someone like you that does more water crossings, but it's more expensive, and it sounds like you already change the fluid pretty frequently. If I changed the fluid as often as you, I would probably be looking to go the same route as you.

Right now I'm loving the new squeeze bottles. Makes it easy to change. Only put 6,000 a year on it mostly off road. Will do an annual service.
