I am checking out a 1989fj62 tomorrow,with 116,000 miles and is in excellent condition. What is a good price to pay for this,please give me top and bottom prices.
As you know the SUV market, even for Land cruisers, is extremely in favor of the buyer these days. I'd say 5K max for a clean, stock 62. Anyone who expects more is dreaming, but.... if you combine the right buyer with the right seller, maybe 7500 or so.
I just paid 3,800 for a 1988 with 180,000 miles. The engine was replaced with a crate motor by a Toy dealer at about 120,000 and the tranny was rebuild about 15,000 after that. Very clean, no rust, and decent paint.
I just bought a clean 89 with 117k miles and all records from the original owner for $2000. I've actually seen this truck in the parking lot at work since it was new. It's a great truck and I'm happy to have it. the paint on the roof is a bit faded, otherwise it's perfect. these things are serious gas hogs in town. Very heavy duty running gear. My son is driving it as his daily ride when he it's on his bike.
