V8 Conversion to FJ62 Auto

I am in the process of getting info on converting my FJ62 to 351 Windsor Power using a Marks Adaptor in Australia. The 351 is Holley 500 equiped and driving a standard Toyota A43DL Auto. The set-up will be used to tow a 2.5 T power boat. Any info would be greatly acceped.

I have no idea what is available to you in OZ but I am going from 3FE to a 3.2L GM motor to 4L60E tranny then to OEM toyota transfer. It might be easier/cheaper to use a GM tranny but that does not apply much as you have a Ford motor (I think you do at least)

Issues I am running into is motor height, oil pan clearance, cooling, motor location etc...

I had considered the diesel option but I am chasing Horspower to do the job. Chev Diesel V8 would be OK but the cost is over the top.

Well, I was talking Toyota anyway. Isnt there some wrecking yard with a nice low mile SMILEING 1HZ out there waiting for you?

The 62 series has the A440F transmission and will need to be modified for the convertion. The transmission works great but it will over heat almost straight away with out recalibrating the valve body, Adding an extra large oil cooler and I wouldn't leave out the temp gauge. I know because I have at least 2-3 Land Cruisers in my work shop at all times. Take a look at these pages and go through the A440F Extreme Valve Body news releases.
