I'm really grateful for those that sacrificed a lot of ideal trail time on Saturday to help out.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we installed more than 200' of guard rail on Saturday.
Below and in the following posts are photos I took on Saturday.
Here is photographic evidence of Darin winching out the Bobcat. For the record, Rafael did a great job with the Bobcat and it being stuck is in no way a reflection of his driving. Not to make excuses, but Eli, the lone non-ONSC volunteer called the tires "racing slicks", the ground steep and soft from recent rain and the Bobcat's weight is unevenly distributed.
The pics below show preparations for dragging the guardrail, Lee's duct tape repair of the sheared pin that was holding the auger in place and finally the "fixed" auger in use trying to drill through URE rock. Notes: The Stihl auger Garrett is seen holding was not running whent he photo was taken. Members of the US Forest Service have no knowledge of the trail repair shown below.
Well.... so bad i could not use my chain saw. I needed some kind of certification hehehe.
Just kidding!!! Great work everyone.
Darin was the hardest working man in the job. looking forward to the next dent on my 40 :-( , fix is done. Nothing that a good body hammer cannot fix in a flat surface. repair is temporary for ever.
Was great to see everyone at the barn. Thanks Keep it going!!!!!
