This sounds like an interesting event to be involved in. I will be the first to say that I am not a fan of URE trails on Opening weekend. But from looking at the site I provided above "Main," reading up about it on NC4x4 and other sites, looks like they will have enough activities to keep all entertained. They also have camping, I know it is free to clubs that volunteer to help, I'm also asking about the cost to camp if not volunteering so I will update this post. In addition to what is listed on the site there will also be a Bar-B-Que/cookoff and an organization called OVERT will be there.

OVERT is a group of volunteers that are organized, linked in with the county, to assist during severe weather with recoveries and transportation of Medical personnel.

This is not a Jeep event and I would like to see other LC's there.

Really looking forward to chatting with the OVERT guys.

Hey Izzy, are you planning on a day trip, camping at the training center or camping on URE campgrounds?

If anyone wants to camp at the Jamboree, please let me know and I'll arrange for there is a spot saved for you. Btw, it's free for camping.

Wanted to bring this event back up. I might be engaged doing some trails or a class during. Not sure about camping yet.

Izzy,
Eric and I were taking about this event and you on our ride to work this morning. Keep us posted on what you decide on camping. We will probably go down Fri night and set up camp.

All,
We are hearing more and more about this event and what/who all will be there. I encourage everyone to try to make it out, even if it is for a day drip.

Well the forestry service had a raffle at the end of the event for people that have and plan on volunteering for work days. I'd say We did pretty good. Nice seeing Izzy, Jay and Kurt. Really was a great event. Tons of vendors and had a great conversation with midstate off-road and Toyota in ashboro about group buys and potential sponsors for LR. Arb and Patriot therapy were great to talk to as well. Apex overland was there and great to work with. Nice catching up with Juan from Payara off-road. He's going to have some nice bumpers, racks and accessories coming soon. There were way more Toyotas than I expected and was a great event.

Great time there this weekend, I had to leave around 3 for a date that didn't work (see rant thread)
On the way in, had to park next to this beaut and scare them a little.

Leading a gaggle of jeeps in the wild. This is the Grand Overland District trails, pretty awesome, they have come a long way. Highly recommended

Just a quick note on MidstateToyota in Ashboro. I called about an ARB diff breather kit. He beat any price I found online or even amazon for it and I'll have it in two days. Absolutely worth a call if looking for new ARB gear and they're local.

Ask for Brandon 336.629.9148

I second that, Brandon got me an ARB pulley block way lower than anything online, shipped to me. Asked about rear bumpers, their prices to us are way lower (~20%) than other places.

@Izzyandsue looks like a lot of new gravel in the Grand Overland District, what else have they done?
