Read through thread and will see where we are meeting on Friday with links for Outpost, campsite, etc. If interested in going I can also give you coordinates for your GPS if you are more comfortable with UTMs.

New CV axle? Check?

Yep, just in Greensboro NC on I85 get vibration...stop and check thinking flat tire...nothing. get back in and all smooth....few miles later does same thing but worse...stop and look for loose lugs, tire damage, missing wheel weights, underneath at cv boots...no tears, no grease slinging....fine. Start back and in Durham does it again...so pull over and this time I notice some smoke from inner boot but no tears still.

Find Toy Store (lexus toyota shop) but he wants 95 hour just to see what is wrong before he tries to fix it...so find toyota shop 5 miles away...drive there. In parking hear a clunk clunk sporadically from front right tire.

Call Glenn for advice...then have service tech check clip on end of axle since I just did bearing repack in December. It was good....after 20 minutes of diagnostic checks off ground...wheels turning, locking, center diff, etc...figured it was passenger side CV axle bad. I did not have time to get it and see exactly what happened but it was sounding like two big wrenches clunking together every now and then and obviously caused bad vibration on that tire too.

Hour to get part they told me was in stock....just at another dealer in area....then 45 minutes to install and button back up. $650 later I have a new OEM driver side CV axle......

Think I will do drivers side when I get home and save old one as an emergency spare....unless I break it at Uwharrie too. LOL

Oh well...left at 6am and got to hotel at 9:30pm :( LMAO

Yeah! Excited about this...see you guys Saturday afternoon! :)

Well,

I haven't checked the 100 yet. But it was one hellacious storm last night. I have never seen lightning and wind like that. It was incredible. Lightning every second (literally) and then the sound of hail hitting the roof at an unbelievable rate. I'll check it in an hour when I head out for classes. If you are camping today that storm is heading towards you. Be careful and take cover immediately.

Looks like we won't make it because of scheduling/time to prep for the trip. :(

Next time! Take pics and have a great time!

I'm ready. finished up a few minutes ago and going to bed. the Atl crew is departing at 9:30, see you all in the afternoon.

Ahh, lake Hartwell. Don't eat those fish.

Hope y'all have a great time. Weather is supposed to be amazing this weekend. Just like several other rides in the past, this is the only Sat. I have to work since Feb. This always happens. Was planning on trying to come up and at least have a drink Sat. night after work since it's only about an hour from me, but the wife has made plans. She gets what she wants 'cause she's way hotter than y'all.

Have fun! Be safe!

well, had an outstanding trip. Weather was perfect...75 during day....48-52 in evening....trails were dry for most part and rain kept dust down until Saturday afternoon then it was a white cloud on the roads like always.

We had a good group show up...myself, 2000UZJ, Steve, Moots, SogSeal, BBQBoy, JGray and even one of our ONSC guys in his red FJ40 though we were never able to really hook up on trails or afterwards.

I will post some pics and pull any over from other locations as there are pictures and video both I believe. Thanks for all that attended....and look forward to next time.

Sorry Thomas and Mylene could not make it due to work....but that is how it goes.
