Posting from NC4x4:
According to Recreation Specialist Terry Savery who heads up the FS workdays, the in-season workdays will again be the 3rd Saturday of the month in 2012. There will be no scheduled FS workday in July but volunteers are welcome to preform trail clean up that month at their discretion.
Off season workdays for clubs that are a part of the Forest Service Parter (ONSC) Program will be February 25th and March 17th.
Permitting on the new Lake View OHV trail is progressing with only a couple of departments left to sign off on it before construction begins in mid 2012. An early fall 2012 date is projected as the grand opening of this new addition to the Forest Service OHV trail system.
Lakeview Trail will run approximately 1.5 miles from the intersection of Wolf Den OHV trail and FS516 to the rear of the Art Lilly campground. It's been referenced as the Old Falls Dam and CCC trail in the map linked below..
Looks like they're trying to do an old trail hike on Jan. 28th to document some of the locations and possibility of opening new trails up...
