I found a decent priced ($450) warn m10k local to me. The seller claims its in good working order though he has done little to no maintenance on it. I am thinking of it for my 60 series with the appropriate old-style ARB bumper. The winch was new in 2002. I was wondering if the winch gurus would weigh in on availability of parts for a discontinued model like the M10k or if they have any thoughts on this winch. Thanks in advance.

Warn winch parts are readily available. My M12000 was from the early 90's and I had no problem finding everything I needed.

Warn's website will give you a list of Warn authorized service and parts centers to choose from.

If you can easily find parts for M10000, then go for it.

That is the perfect question. Ill call warn about the winch tomorrow and find out about the availability of parts. I think the m12k and the m10k share some parts. There are also two setups on the m10k and the newer setup has more parts comparability, though I don't remember the specifics. Ill post what I find out.

Make the call, but I'd be floored if WARN doesn't have replacement parts.

So I picked up the M10k and talked the guy down a hundred bones because the clutch/brake is rusted in the engaged position. The handle moves but nothing happens. It should be a great winch once I get it and a dual battery system installed.
