Used BFG AT KO v. New Terra Graplers

Trying to decide between two sets of tires, Discount Tire I went to today has 4 take off BFG AT KO's in 295/75/16 mounted and full replacement for 523.42 with 12/32 tread left, or can get the Nitto Terra Grapplers in same size with same road hazard and mounting for 800.00 new. Never had either tire, any thoughts greatly appreciated.

is that $800 for 4 or 5 terra grapplers? - seems high for 4. I have had both used bfgs and new terra grapplers and like the new terra grapplers much better.

The price for the Nittos is 163 per tire, which includes the install, then 36 per tire for full replacement protection. They were 148 on discount tire direct, but then you have to pay 19/tire install, so works out about the same.

Terra Grapplers have lightning bolts on the side - so they win hands down.

Terra Grapplers, particularly if you ever deal with ice/snow. Great 4 season performance. If you search, I posted results from a Consumer Reports eval which has the TG's ranked ahead of the BFG's on most counts.

I've been running the 295 TG's for nearly 50K and love them. Great all around. Ordering a new set in a few weeks!

Yeah, honestly if I had known what a pain it was going to be and how much it was really going to cost I probably would have gone with sliders and a winch before gears.

Just got a new set of TGs at Discount tire two days ago...same size. I called the local store and inquired about a cash and carry price they said $700.00. I then told them I could get them delivered to my door for 617.00 on Ebay. The guy hem-hawed a little and then said he could do 603.00. When I went in to order the tires, I looked at the invoice and he only charged me 560.00 for the tires. Mounting and balancing was 12.00. They are awesome.
