So I own a 60 series land cruiser wagon, manual 2h turbo diesel 6 cylinder.

And now I've noticed that one of the cylinders has stopped working. Would any of you have any ideas what could cause a cylinder to not be able to work?
I was think it might be something to do with the fuel pump or something because I had to replace my fuel primer, and put a new filter in, but when it's running it's always sound like its choking and it blows really black soot all the time, even at the lightest touch of the accelerator.

If you guys could post your opinions on what it could be I'd really appreciate it.

Cobjsmda, maybe ask over in the diesel section of mud.
Is this a new to you vehicle? You state it always sound like its choking, sooty, when did this start happening?
Milage, location?

I would start by pulling the injector on the bad cylinder and having it checked out.
