update from the USFS
Hi Everyone – I meant to send a message out last week and we have been slammed busy and then I forgot to send the message last week. Yes, we’re having a volunteer work day on Saturday July 15th. Meet at the Uwharrie Hunt Camp at 9 am. Austin Hunsucker & Annilie Kelley will meet you and work with you that day. The projects are as follows.
Site 1 – Fix guardrail at intersection of Wolf Den Trail & Bates Trail (post and guardrail are leaning over). This is at the dispersed campsite where Wolf Den Trail, Falls Dam Trail & Bates (TR 723) come together.
Site 2 – Fix guardrail on Rocky Mt Loop Trail at the north end at the bottom of the entrenched area north below the rocky area to the east of Sawmill Trail.
Site 3 – Install 4 to 5 sections of split rail fencing, slash in illegal trail & install “No Motor Vehicle” signs behind fence on Sawmill Trail on the big curve where the big culvert is.
Cut brush back around trail signs, at trail & road intersections and around trailhead signs, pick up trash.
