Work plan from Terry.
Hope too see some of you there.
Eric

Hi Everyone – We’ll be doing our OHV work day on February 24th!!! Yes, we’ll be going the work day unless the weather is completely awful. Annilie & I will meet you all at 9 am at the Uwharrie Hunt Camp & divide up into groups from there. Below is the projects / tasks we’ll be working on.

1. Art Lilley CG/TH – Repair the wooden guide rail fencing

2. Falls Dam Trail just past the Art Lilley & Falls Dam THs – complete installation of guardrail to define the border of the dispersed camping area. Install signs for where motor vehicles aren’t allowed to go past.

3. Install guardrail at 1 or 2 dispersed campsites on Moccasin Creek Road where people have begun making illegal vehicle trails to connect to RML Trail.

4. Cutting back / Clearing back brush and branches from the trails

5. Installing Diamonds & Signs & Trail #s

6. Picking up trash.

We’ll need augers, shovels, rock bars, guardrail draggers, loppers, etc. from the FOU barn and we’ll have the FS augers, shovels, rock bars etc. I can pick up the stuff from the FOU barn on Friday. We’ll have the drill, carriage bolts, wrenches, etc. for the wooden guiderail too. If any of you have pneumatic drills or hammer drills (I think that’s what they are called) that you’ve used to screw the nuts & bolts together to install the guardrail and are coming please bring those.

Thanks a lot everyone. I look forward to see you all at the work day & hope we have great weather. Bye - Terry

It was a great day to be out at URE.
Too bad everyone missed it. Met a lot of great Jeep owners today.

I wanted to go but since nobody posted up that they were going I decided to go to the gym with the kids instead.

sorry I was out of town visiting the grandkids

Construction will start on the new Lakeview trail this summer and it will open spring of 2019. The forest service got a backlog of funding released, so they will be scrambling with multiple projects this year, as a result there will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer.
