Upper tailgate lights??

Ive been able to search and find quite a bit about the lower tailgate lights but having issues finding info on the upper.

The bulbs in the 2 lights as shown in the picture are out and im trying to figure out how to properly remove without cracking the lens in the process.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated..

for mine, i used a flat end screwdriver or a plastic removal tool and it just popped out. if i remember correctly, i also moved the cover left or right and that helped.

Interesting, so the clear lens and black base came out in once piece, was thinking they were separate.

Can someone check the FSM? I thought the slid inward or outward into place.

Just wanted to confirm those bulbs are out. It may not be obvious to some those are license plate lights and on only when your headlamps/parking lights are on.

Push them outboard. They will rotate downward.
