Expedition Ops is hosting the first trip planning meeting for an Upper Midwest Overland trip this coming Spring/Summer/Fall. Let me know you have any interest in the January meeting. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michagan...

Thanks,

Jeremy

Alan,
I hear you on the limiting factors! This trip is for the drivers by the drivers. Aka. No route has been decided and no date determined. I am merely hosting the initial meeting to discuss what everyone would like to do. Me personally, I'd like to do a 3 week long trip from No Dak to the UP and meet folks at checkpoints and travel forthe week they can run, or weekend they have available. Send me an email and I'll keep you posted on meeting details.

Might be interested. I wouldn't know my ability to attend until next year some time. I have a crazy work / travel schedule. But it sounds like fun.

My wife is due Jan 17th so it's not likely unless the meeting is relatively close to the Chicago suburbs.

Alan, yes it is the same Frank. Thanks for the good wishes. The wife went into labor last night so things are moving a few weeks faster than we had thought. The good news is that I might be able to make this event in January even if it isn't so close to Chicago. Even if I can't, if you guys come up with a run and we can make it we would love to attend.

I have a new to me 60 series that needs an expedition breakin.

Boy and our first child. His name is Daniel James Falcone.

I do still have the H3. I sort of accidentally stumbled across the FJ-60 when PO's daughter contacted me out of the blue on advice to sell it. It was her dad's. Turns out her father passed and her step mother hated the truck and wanted to junk it. It's a nice one owner truck, I couldn't believe someone would send it to a scrap yard. The daughter wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it like her dad did. My brother bought my 4runner and I bought the 60. It's extra cargo capacity will be really nice on the longer expeditions (roof rack too). I always wanted a 60 series so it all just sort of worked out.

Thanks for the good wishes. He was born 12/17 at 7:02 PM.

Back to wheeling. I probably won't be able to make it up there for the meeting but look forward to the outcomes! I can't wait to hit the trails in 2011.

The meeting is on the 12th of January at Expedition Ops shop in Minneapolis. Sounds like a he'll of a drive for some free beer!

Congrats on the new boy!!!
What is the meeting and what does it entail?? I have a new to me 98 LC and would love to learn and meet other LC owners especially in the MN area

The meeting will be a relatively small group of guys that are interested in exploring the upper Midwest. No route is planned, so that's what we'll be talking about this meeting.

Questions to be answered,
What does an overland trip look like for you?
What roads should we take?
What state should we travel in?

Make sure to bring your Topo maps of ND, SD, MN, WI, MI. So at this point it's all up for creation.

I'd love to meet another MPLS overlander.

well to be honest I have nothing as far as topo maps etc...

I am originally from Australia... I owned a Diesel Diahatsu Rocky for a few years and that was fun.. but have never seriously gotten into any 4wd 'ing'

I may try to make this but no guarantee..

where in the cities are you located??

If the dates work out, I'd jump in with the group...my schedule gets pretty hectic starting in Feb, but I'd welcome something more local!

I'm located at 2309 Snelling ave ste 101, mpls, mn 55404 you can find the same address and a phone number at Contact Us @ ExpeditionOps.com

Woody,
It would be a pleasure to have you along. My selling season will be pretty busy spring summer and ramp down towards fall, probably shortly after BHCC in SoDak. I'd be curious what events you are going to, I'm adding dates to my calendar now, starting with the Overland Expo then back to MPLS for the Outdoor Adventure Expo at Midwet Mountaineering.

Send me an email for a rough head count of who is coming so I can plan beer and brats accordingly.

Thanks,

Jeremy
