Upgrading nav unit 01 LX470

I searched the web and forums for this answer but got a lot of random information. I used to own a 2012 F150 with a pretty bada$$ Nav unit. Check the weather, stocks, sports etc. I was wondering if i could do any kind of update or upgrade for my Nav unit. Obviously i cannot put another nav unit in since my AC is tied in. The graphics look terribly old and doesn't really have any features. Any thoughts?? Thanks guys

Well it may not be impossible.... Not necessarily easy or cheap, but it seems someone has retrofit a "non nav" "center stack" in a Land Cruiser. I would expect something similar could be done on an LX.

^^^ based on that thread photos, it doesnt look as difficult as I had heard for the pre 2003 with Nav. Looks like its plug and play with a little more wiring than when I did my 4Runner double din.
