If you liked your 100 so much, just get the most powerful 100 -- 2005+ has VVTI and a 5-speed transmission. Really nice drivetrain. Nowhere near the power of the 5.7, but still nice, and as good as a 100 will get.
Not to rub it in, but your dead battery was user error
We can argue on and on about 200/LX570 reliability and all those electronics aren't going to leave you stranded, etc etc, but it sounds more to me like you know what you like. The heart wants what it wants! (Hence why I still do a gut check every time an 80 hits the classifieds
