Update: We received a signed agreement with the FS and these are now our adopted roads. This replaces our previous agreement and roads. I am now waiting on FS approval for the work day.

Hi all,
As discussed at the last club meeting, we are currently planning a Saturday, June 15th Adopt-a-Trail work day in Big Bear on a new set of roads for the club. The roads we have agreed to adopt are 2N09A and 3N12C. The two roads connect and provide through access with several spots suitable for camping. Our club agreement paperwork has been turned into the Forest Service and is waiting for signature. I will update this thread when I receive the approval so please check back for updates when the date gets closer. The plan is to spend the morning doing a survey of the new roads and some light maintenance. Please bring work gloves and water and wear close toed shoes. We plan to meet at 9 am in Fawnskin and be done with work by lunch.
Please reply to this post if you plan to attend. Hope to see you there! My cell is 714-262-0270.

Sorry Kim. No way for me to get to the roads for awhile.

:bang: Yah. For sure
In reality, I'm glad you didn't and it's going to Oregon. I don't think I could have handled meetings seeing my beloved truck in someone else's possession.

Probably a better home also. I saw the new owners kid in the pictures; there’s a potential generational ownership there.
Possible. He'd been building up his original white 1994 to run the Pan American highway when he retires in 5 1/2 years.

I hope to make it, if I can get my back re-habbed in time. Physical therapy ongoing…

I’m in for sure, as my back is substantially better! Just to confirm for everyone - This will be our June club run. If we miraculously receive the FS approval that Kim mentioned in post #1, then we will have a sanctioned workday.

However, even if we don’t receive FS approval in time, we will still run these trails. The trails are open for use, so we will use them. We will not perform any actual maintenance, as we do not want to run afoul of FS guidelines.

If you’d like, you may bring trash bags along, in case we find any trash along the trails or in the trail side camping areas. We can be responsible trail users, and “Good Samaritan’s”, by helping to clean up any trash that any prior users may have left behind. Hope to see you all there!

Kim - If I’m wrong on any of the information above, please feel free to correct me. Thanks again for all you do to keep SoCal TLCA active in this very vital program!
