Our latest club newsletter shows the subject club run scheduled. Who is planning to attend this?

I will be camping at West Lake (a bit north-east of Shaver Lake) with friends the week of August 11. Since I will be up there early, I would be happy to scout out some possible camping locations, and post coordinates on this thread. I would need to know:
  • Number of vehicles and space requirements (sleeping in/on your vehicle, tent camping, trailer, etc...).
  • Planned arrival date/time - Because this is a high-use area, it might be a good idea for someone to be there early enough to hold any potential campsite that would be big enough for the rest of the group (I can't guarantee that I could hold it, as I won't want to move from my campsite with my friends). On the other hand, there does seem to be a ton of places to camp in the area...
If there is sufficient interest in this run, I (and possibly my friends) might like to join the club for the Saturday trail run(s). Would you please LMK ASAP?

Thanks,

JR

I am interested

I had a great time last year despite being stung by some naughty bees (they died). I somehow sense that I will regret missing this year's trip. Have fun everyone

@DirtyRice Joe Do you have an idea what trails we would be running for this trip?

There are so many from which to choose! Do you have access to trailsoffroad.com or OnXOffroad? I’m open to any suggestions (except maybe the Dusy or Swamp Lake…). LMK if there’s anything that you’ve been looking forward to. My only caveat is that I would like to keep to mild or moderate trails.

I will get up there Monday or Tuesday to camp with friends at West
Lake, about a mile of the way up the Strawberry Lake Trail. My friends will either be in a Wrangler Rubicon on their new LC250.

Our club camped here last year in case you are still looking for a place to camp. The coordinates are included in picture. From camp, we rode west to Bald Mountain where one could see Shaver Lake from the observation post

2nd on that camp spot. The bluff hold 3 or 4(tight) rigs but also has adjacent tree shaded spots for 4 or 5 more rigs.

Be aware that both the dust and swamp lake trails are for built rigs only
