I just finished my initial peruse of the most recent Toyota Trails (I look at all the pretty pictures first), and noticed an ad for a TLCA event in the Cascades.
Since I failed, again, to make Rubithon, perhaps something a little closer?
I recall Rob S mentioning a Washington State event he had attended last year, perhaps we as a club could make a bigger presence at some of these closer venues?

We have just missed the McGrew Trail Ride in Oregon, but 'Cruising the Woods' is fast approaching.

Cruisin' the Woods 2009

I attended Cruisin' the Woods last year. A great event. It's at Brown's Camp in the Tillamook Forest in Oregon (about 1 hour west of Portland) and takes place in the OHV area they have there. Being further south, the camping was just like a pleasant summer day, not too hot and the nights weren't bad either and no bugs for the end of Sept. Camping is $10/night if I recall, there is a small river that runs through camp. Cascade Cruisers puts on a good event, the raffle and food are great (you know, everything in the US is just a bit bigger ;) )

I have other plans this year, so I can't go. The OHV area has some good challenging wheeling spots and it's all very well mapped out.

The Friday run is for Toyota's only. The Saturday is open for other vehicles as well and is a poker style run with 6 checkpoints with different challenges to do.

5 hours to Portland from the border at the speed limit (longer in a 4spd 3B with 4.11's which is my truck!). Then about an hour west of Portland. You can cut off before Portland at Longview and then take a county road (which is much more scenic) which will save you the Portland traffic.
