So 2 weeks ago, Felix and I swapped cruisers so he could max out his Home Depot card and get his new shed home without renting a truck.
I've been tooling around in the 40 for a day or two and decide to load the dogs up and head out to Winchester for a quick trip. I "fly" by a cop on route 50 and he pulls out behind me. I'm thinking "no way a was speeding much in a 40".... he's creeping behind me at about 40 mph and I'm thinking maybe its the antique plates or one of the dogs fell out the back, nope....
The next 20 minutes involved proving that I did not steal the cruiser. It did not help that we couldn't find the VIN and that it was my buddy's truck. Luckily, the dog was not trying to eat a police officer either.
Turned out that a couple of hours earlier a white 40 w/ a tire carrier was stolen right up the street. We soon had a 3 cop audience and a pretty good laugh. What are the chances?
I think Bob said his wife stopped to look at a 40 for sale on 29 near Wegman's. Its been there forever (and its rusty) Apparently someone decided they needed to take a test drive first and then just brought it home...!
Anyway, just thought it was funny at the time and wantwed to share the good times. Remember to lock your doors (if you have locks - and doors- that is!)
