Additionally, I have two loose blue/white female connectors coming out of the firewall.View attachment 3655428
From my research, this should go to the speed detector. When I look this up, I cannot find anything close to what it should be. Btw this a 1970.

Do not believe a 70 has the speed detector.

Your location for the hazard fuse is not where it was when it left the factory. It did not hang loose
in the location. Originally the fuse was on top of the harness. When the vent was removed it was laying on top of the harness. As I remember there was electric tape wrapped around the harness to hold it there. I haven't had to get at it since the I replaced which was probably in 1975. Thinking my 10/69 70 model still has the original fuse. The original owner of my 68 had messed the wiring up. Thinking his trailer wiring had blown the hazard fuse. It had all the wires for the turn signals switched around along with some other wiring hacks.

Very interesting. Last night I got my reverse light working. PO had the reverse light wired to the yellow wires down by the Speedo cable at the tranny.

How does your transmission shift, column or floor? Originally a 70 shifted from the column in the US market. On a column shift the switch to turn on the reverse was at the base of the steering column. Floor shift moved or the the top back side of the transmission. The reverse light wires should be outside the cab. Even the floor was out side the cab.

It’s a 3 speed floor shift. Originally a soft top car. Yes I agree. I don’t have a picture to explain right now, but the two red wires coming down near the steering column in the engine bay, were hooked up to these wires.

Sorry for lengthy posts. I found this forum post Speed marker.

When I follow the two blue/white wires through the firewall, they should go down and connect to the “speed generator” or whatever as seen in the pic I posted above. It appears I am missing about 4 feet of jumper wires.
