I was doing an oil change on the 99 4Runner the other day and while the oil was draining, I was snooping around underneath and noticed a loose pigtail connector. Looking further, I found two wires with no home (pigtail connector). The wires go to the lonely pigtail which goes to a sensor on the top mid-section of the trans on the passenger side. Looks like there's the same sensor & harness on the opposite side of the trans. Does anyone know what that sensor is for? I took the pigtail connector off, disassembled it and re-connected the wires. No warning lights triggered prior to this and nothing noticed afterwards.

TIA.
