Hey Guys
I have a 1996 RHD HDJ80 series Landcruiser. The truck has covered approx 200k kms.
The issue that I am facing is that the rear two tyres are wearing out unevenly. The front tyres are wearing out in a normal fashion.
The tyres are Yokohama Geolanders AT 275/70/R16's. The vehicle is used for road driving conditions and no off-road and have run for 25K kms.
The rear left tyre is wearing out from the left hand side and the rear right tyre is wearing out from the right hand side. I am enclosing some pictures of both the tyres.
I would really appreciate if the experts on the forum can help me identifying the problem so that it can be rectified.
Thanks a ton.

Do you rotate your tyres? Did these tyres ever reside on the front axle? Solid axle...No knuckles (Rear) I'm at a loss other than inflation issues.
Yes sir , these did reside on the front axles and were rotated about 7-8K Kms back. Now I am fearful of rotating them back to the front axles as my front tires are perfect and I fear that if I move them back, they would be ruined too.

normal rotation and inflation on these tires?
I do the rotation on a X pattern FL ->RR and vice versa. Same for the FR -> RL.
Tyre pressure is 30 Pai and under full load ie 4 PAX and luggage 32 Psi all around.

except that the inverse may be true...the trunion (sp?) bearings up front may be the culprit and may be currently mis-forming it's second set.
I mean, technically the rear axle housing could be bent but unless the truck has been taking some serious abuse, I doubt that is the case.

Seriously worn bearings, or a bent rear axle could cause these problems. Both of those are very unlikely. I can't even imagine how to bend the axle, and worn bearings would be noticeable in other ways. It's much more likely the problem is in the front.
