I am going to need to make fenders for my trailer I am building https://forum.ih8mud.com/trailer-tech/241396-question-about-length-balance-axle-placement.html

I plan to make it like this
zsn8f5.jpg
Planning on using some 1/2" angle for the frame. It will be roughly be 40" wide at the bottom an 25" tall

Figure I need two lenghts that are 16" wide to bend a tab to bolt to the trailer box and roughly 8' long to make the fender. What thickness would I need to be able to bend it old school with a mallet and block? Thinner the better for cst and weight. Can I get a sheet that is 32"X 8' or two 16"X8'? This is all with the assumption that I will use a flux core wire fed welder? (Cannot use my ARC becasue it will burn through thin metal)

Thanks!

Thanks. would 18 ga be too think if I had a frame from it?

I bet you will end up using the fenders like little tables. I would think 18 even 20 might be fine.
