Dan is color blind. Everyone knows this and his deficient vision is demonstrated by the fact that he thinks that fugly color of his truck is "a cute shade of green." (his words, not mine.)

LOL

But I guess you're partial as the truck in question also has that Moonglow pearl body? IIRC, I've seen both that combo here in the Bay Area.

Thanks everyone!

i've seen plenty of those in that color scheme here in seattle.

Beno's broke.

You should see the pile o'parts he has here.....

The truck in post # 1 doesn't have moldings; looks like the normal North American body lines to me. And I have seen that scheme in Texas before.

Someone can correct me, but to my knowledge, the only trucks that came into the US with the OEM style side moldings were a few 1991s and the 1997 40th Anniversary and CE trucks. I have never seen a NA truck with the moldings on Mot's post # 25 in the states.

A guy I know has a '91 with the "4 Wheel Drive" side moldings...

Jim,

To me it still looks like the first truck has painted-over moldings.

It might have some thing to do with having the markers in the back on the US models.

Maybe he can repost a higher res pic. I am so used to seeing them over here with no molding, that twin set of deep creases look normal to me.

I agree. It just looks like the normal moulding less 80's we mostly got here in the US. Mot I think you're too used to seeing the side mouldings. ;)

The only vehicles with factory-installed bodyside mouldings in the US were the 40th's and the 1997 Collector's editions.

Mouldings were listed in the parts catalog since 1991 and could be bought as replacement parts and added after-the-fact.

The VX Limited models in Japan had a wider moulding than was used here. Our version is the same as the VX model in Japan.

Dan,

You better put your reading glasses on!;)

Or maybe I better get some myself.:D

I know its not nice to argue with the Shaman. But I have known two 1991 US 80s that had the moldings on them when they rolled off the boat.

I would not dispute that, knowing about the crazy antics of the private distributor in tejas.

I will ammend and say that TMS USA did not bring vehicles in with mouldings until 97.

How's that?......

There goes your discount, Jim.:)

Yes, and my head gasket too. :crybaby: I probably wouldn't have posted that, but he just pisses me off how he can always spew all those part numbers. No human being should be able to remember that many XXXXX-XXXXX part numbers. I used to think he had an EPC in his back pocket, but now I am sure its purely from memory. Maybe its that dry, arid climate.
