sorry @elroberds i don't know what colors my 55 used to be. Green and gold metallic is all i know. Sorry to all you guys that liked the metallic. I prefer stock colors so I took this one back to how it came from the factory.

It appears that you already have some type of fabbed frame rail extensions. I saw this post but wanted to ask for a bit more information as I already bought one of these. 8274 Winch Mounting Plate
It looks like it would drop into my 55 without issue but an 8274 won't fit without extending the frame rails. Are you looking at changing the bumper set up and going OEM?

what you see in the picture there is just a 6x6 plate top and bottom of the frame - it was dealer installed back in 1979 with an 8274 which I have rebuilt and will be reinstalling.
I bought some frame extensions from @TRAIL TAILOR last year for this purpose. They are really nice but they won’t fit inside the stock bumper so I’ve got to refab them. Once I get that done I’ll have a mounting plate (same one you just got) and channel behind the stock bumper and between the rails. I’ll post some pics when done. Trying to get my doors painted this week, then hope to get on that.

Thanks; that's very helpful. Let me know what you wind up purchasing from the above mentioned vendor. He said I could return mine if it didn't work. I know I can make it work but always good to look at an "optimized" solution.
@NikP do you have another shot of how you masked up near the 2nd row door latch at all? I'd like to follow your lead but can't quite see what you did there.. thanks!
Here's how we did mine, I don't like to see the white either.
Exactly like @scrapdaddy.
The method to key the white from showing on the jambs is to paint the whole thing black. I looked it up on the webernets.
thanks for that. did you do the same on the B pillar too? im not sure how this will look with a darker color.. know @smooth did this on his but personally its not for me.
