Two Starter Relays in Two Weeks

In the past two weeks, I have had two starter relays die on my '86 BJ70. The second relay was a used one that I pulled off my project truck rather than new.

Now I am suspious that there is more going on here and I need to be looking at other things. Is there something else that can cause starter relays to go bad?

My bet is it's a coincidence. Starterrelays are pretty simple and straightforward parts.

You have to make sure the replacement is right voltage wise.

Thanks for the reply. Your assessment is how I was seeing it, but practical application is different than theory so I thought it was better to ask.
