Hello all, I have two questions about my knuckles before I do them:

1) the left front wheel clicks like a bad cv joint when going around turns, do I need to replace anything extra other than what is provided in the kit to resolve this problem

2)When I make a real sharp turn (like to parallel park) I get a real loud noise from the right side sounds like a scraping rubbing vibration. real bad sound like something is going to get ripped off of the truck. When looking under the truck, the right side where the noise is coming from is soaked in gear oil.
Is there anything on this side that I should replace in addition to the rebuild?

Thank you for your help, I would hate to do the knuckles and still have problems in the front axle.

Who sells the best knuckle kit?

well, the loud noise you hear is more than often your leaf springs shifting. Just make sure the kit has new toyo bearings and you will be fine. Cruiseroutfitters has them, I would either get them from him or C-Dan

I would be looking at the birfields to see if they are in good condition or not.

sounds like they are pretty worn to me.

would they only make noise in 4wd? They dont move much in 2wd drive, just back and forth with out rotation...

yeah, they make noise in both two and four wheel drive. After I heard the noise the first time, I put the hubs in "free" mode to see if it made a difference. I did not.

I don't think it is the springs, it is more of a constant grinding noise than a pop, I almost want to say it is the ps pump but I don't think it is.

What sort of noise do dirfields make when they go bad?
What about steering knuckle bearings?

Depends on how dry it is in there. They can turn a lot more than you would expect if the lube is hashed.. You also might want to look at the wheel bearings. They can make all sorts of noise when they go bad..

Well, I found the answer. I took off the right front wheel to fill up the knuckle with grease and found that one of the leaf spings is cracked and was cocked into the wheel well a little bit. On real sharp turns, the tire would hit the protruding spring and make a lot of racket.

Thank you all for your help

Deal, come on over and I'll give it ta ya..
