So the front end of Tween the DDigger is making a TERRIBLE squeaking noise... and I've had rotors/pads waiting for a tear-down as well as bushings for the rack&pinion. Also a CV shaft to replace the broken boot one.
So last a couple weeks ago I ordered the Slee dif drop bracket.
After the last few days and the front end feeling like it's about to fall apart, I took an emergency day off today. Thought it intially was only going to be a morning off. But it got from decent, to bad, then worse. But at least got it back on the road.
And, sadly. The squeak is not even gone. Appears to be in one of the ball joints or bushings for the Upper or Lower control arm. It's cheaper to buy the control arms as whole units WITH the bushings and balljoints. So I'm prolly going to go that route.... in a few weeks. After the Mardi Krawl, and hopefully the wallet will stop hemorrhaging. Cause it is right now. Badly.
Oh yeah, AND in putting the rotors on, one of the past rotors was cross threaded in a bolt or two so the hub is fubar'd... 2 of the 5 bolts are, so we waited for a machine shop to try to fix it, he could have prolly with a days time, but a couple hours couldn't do it. So now, I'm limping and will need to source a newer hub... and prolly new bearings and seals... FML. this Hunnerd is making me extremely poor.
