Turbo installation

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier.

No need to have a shop do it. Seriously it’s not hard at all. The 3B is like it’s meant to take a turbo. Don’t do coolant through the turbo, oil cooling only works WAY better, and the hardest part of the install is adding the oil return to the oil pan. Which isn’t hard at all.

If I were ever around I’d offer to do it with you.

And plan on doing the exhaust, and then tacking together an exhaust to get the exhaust out from under the truck and then head straight to Jim’s Route 66 to get a full exhaust done.

Hey thanks for the response. I work full time and have a 3 year old, so I have limited time to get it done myself. I spoke with spears automotive and scheduled for the 14th the soonest they have available. Do you own a cruiser with a 3B?

I don’t. My diesel cruiser engines are a 2LT-E, an H, and a handful of 1HZs.

But Dad has a 3B swapped 40. We rebuilt the engine too, and rebuilt the turbo on it at that time.

Also a 12HT in the family.
