Hi brains trust

trying to get some thoughts as my 4 speed auto HZT does this strange thing where at low speeds before boost kicks in it stutters or jerks a bit back and forth like its struggling for air or fuel or something.

When i give it some pedal or drop back a gear to get the revs up ig goes away (over 1800rpm approx)

FYI -its a low mileage standard 10mm (not maxed out) non boost or altitude compensated pump

Cheers

I don't have experience with the HZ but I did have similar behavior with a 3B. I had a bad engine mount and the engine would move enough to allow slack in the throttle cable resulting in a jerking/surging sensation.

Something to do with the governor? Is there a diesel injection shop with a dyno in Tom Price or Newman?

Dont think its engine mounts, i was reading last night that its quite common in the 105s under load at low rpm they jerk back and forth a bit "its a diesel thing' but it only started doing it shortly after turbo was installed. my guess is the HZ doesnt like low rpm load being indirect injection and all. How to overcome this i dont know. Maybe wind the boost up a bit

Yes, it is a 105 trait and they added the dual mass flywheel to alleviate it. Ive also read a few stories about it. The HZJ79 should also do it because it has the same engine/gearbox config.
Maybe your clutch is tired.

i have an auto with very low kms, couple of blokes are saying they just wound up the fuel a fraction and that solved it

That could do it. But it might also be something to do with the governor
