Modified and installed a TUFFY Samurai console in my BJ73. Its a good option if you are looking to install a console. I was going to mount it on a piece of 1/8 or 3/16 steel plate but amazingly couldn't find a piece around here. (Rota Spain) I ended up using a 1/2" piece a Sapelle wood instead. It is strong and worked out fine. Bolted it to the existing installed brackets with some bolts thru the console and the piece of wood to the bracket.

Thats pretty slick work. I like how you dealt with the e-brake handle.
How close does the shifter come to everything when in the 2nd, 4th, and reverse positions? Does it hit 16oz bottles of soda that are in the front cup holder?

Reverse is the only position with a potential problem. A Yeti standard size cup fits in it and in the reverse position the shift is close but doesn't hit. I will find a 16 oz bottle and stick it in it and take a picture tomorrow. I think it will be OK because of the way the neck is tapered.
