Been a BMW/Porsche (current '14 M5 comp and a 991.1 C2S in the stable), for the last 15 years or so. Always wanted an LC (now that its going from our market).

Been calling dealers all around the Bay Area and a couple in Socal. Couple of dealers were ready to accept deposits (with a 10K markup), but later said owners keeping it as a demo. A total of 5 dealers said this exact thing, dealership owners/managers buying the car. Can name and shame the dealerships as well. Anyone know of dealerships willing to sell at MSRP (reasonable markup is fine as well), even out of state is fine.

I am only seeing ~80 new Cruisers of ANY configuration in the entire country on Cars.com and Autotrader. This is an all time low. If you want the truck - buy it. Can always add the cosmetic bits of the Heritage.

I would imagine the production of the 200 series has ended or should very soon and the number of available units will drop quickly. When they were plentiful it was tough to find a deal much less than and more recently at MSRP, has to be much tougher to impossible to find one now. I have seen a few pre owned 20/21's going for more than MSRP.

It has always been common to find demo Land Cruisers when no one cared, what is the shame in doing so now? Plus I would imagine several HE's will end up in the dealer's collection, pretty typical for any unique or end of the line vehicle.

Good luck with the search, the 200 is a solid rig, but you might have to pay up to get a new one at this point!

Yeah, been trying for around a month now no dice :(. Had a deal for 101K with a local dealer, thats gone now (same excuse dealer wants to keep it).

Call these guys. They’ve been buying them from dealers and selling them still as new. The guy told me they figured out dealers weren’t trading these since there is no inventory of anything, and the middle of nowhere dealers were sometimes willing to sell. He basically lived on the phone for a while calling dealers. They’ve got a good reputation in the area. I personally saw this one yesterday. Had like 5 miles on it.

Wife is looking at trading in her 4 Runner and talked her into a cruiser (if we can find one). Talked to a dealer about a base model and was told 106k was MSRP (I don’t want to know what they priced their heritage at) Told them that’s NOT msrp and good luck. I am sure they will get close. Long story short. At this point, it’s getting close to get what you can find.

Also, hearing what others are saying, a lot of dealer owners are keeping the LC that’s listed on the dealer website.

Kip is a good dude. Well known in Birmingham.

I thought there would be more of a celebration of life for the last produced for the US, hope it ends up in Salt Lake!

In Southeast Toyota there are a total of 23. All but 6 are listed as not available (3 black, 2 white, and one silver), no Heritage whatsoever, and there are no more allocations. What is out there on the ground is all there will ever be. So skip the southeast and get one immediately if you find one.

With the market the way it is AND the bogus markup by dealers, you might as well wait for the Lexus LX600 (or whatever it is called). The Lexus probably costs the same as the bogus markups on the LC200!

And seemingly, Toyota/Lexus has moved away from AHC…the new LX will be very similar to LC (except maybe the predator grill).

Always makes me chuckle when someone complains about a limited run high demand vehicle selling for over MSRP. If someone offered you over asking for your house would you say no? Do you negotiate below MSRP when you purchase a vehicle? Markets change, supply and demand. Things are worth what someone is willing to pay. I waited almost a year for my C8 and paid MSRP which is a great deal right now. I have already been offered $20k more than I paid for it, would I be bogus for taking what someone is offering because of the market?

Isn't the definition of Bogus = Not True/False?

Are some dealers marking them up above MSRP and they are still sold out?

See your private conversation - I just might have what you want

I wouldn’t pay a $10k markup or even sticker on anything, but that’s me. This is not my money, but the current situation is fascinating, even on used vehicles.

Let’s hope the next LX is a home run.
