I put a header on a couple of months ago but realy havent driven truck...on the highway I have to floor it and can only go 65...(with 35s) it spudders I have to keep the rpms real high.......startint out I have too floor it too.......and ride the clutch

If you want some real help, you need to offer some specifics...

Is this an FJ60 FJ62? Other?

Did the truck run properly before the header install?

Did you disconnect any smog gear or vacuum lines?

Etc.

Have you changed out the differential gears? Sounds like your still have the stock 3.7's. How long have you been running 35's?

Do you have a small vacuum if you pull off the PCV hose on top.

still have stock gears.........anyone know of good mechanic in eastern pa

That is why you are burning your clutch. I have not driven a cruiser with 35 and the 3.7 stock gears but heard it doesn't work for a longterm setup. If you are set on 35 then change out the gears to 4.56.

Then start reading on here and get a manual and start learning how to tune it up so it is running good.
