So I seem to remember yellow guidelines that should be on the screen indicating direction of travel when reversing. None now. Also have ' ! ' on screen. Why?? How to tell whats causing malfunction. Double checked all door & tailgate closed as per manual. Not sure what else to check though. All cameras seem to be working. Help appreciated!

I’m not entirely sure I use this OBD correctly all the time! But I scanned everything and these came up:

Codes cleared but still have camera ‘ ! ‘

I've heard that sometimes if your battery drains it resets the guiding lines when you back up. Try putting it in reverse and slowly turning the steering wheel all the way from lock to lock several times to reset the system.

Ahhh. I think that’s it maybe. Battery is a tad low. Went for a highway drive now hooked the charger in recondition mode. I seem to remember having to do that when I replaced the passenger side camera. Will try and update.

UPDATE: I went out and disconnected the battery charger , started the car and put its in reverse - nothing else. And voilà - lines are back and no ' ! ' .

Tks

Low battery voltage (even a few tenths) will cause all kinds of issues on canbus architecture vehicles.

Good to know. Gotta look up when I last replaced the battery. Water levels seem ok.

You have to recalibrate the parking sensors, turn the wheel all the left then all the way right while parked. If you click on the ! It will tell you this.

So i’ve always - when needed - charged batteries in car, red on red black on black. This go round i had to look up a symbol on the charger as i e not used it in awhile and noticed this

I THINK truck is bonded to chassis, right? Am i not suppose to hook leads to battery terminals when changing while battery is installed ?

There is no reason not to use the terminals directly. That's how I had my trickle charger set up for years.
