hi everybody, so ive gotta drive halfway across canada for work in two days and my truck isnt running well. The prob is that it boggs under load, like if i shift it into a higher gear while at a somewhat normal to low rpm it will bogg and sputter until it reaches like 4000rpm at which it runs good. So it only works well at high rpm, i thought it might need a new cat but i got that checked out and its not the prob, i also threw in a new fuel filter and new spark plug wires and neither fixed the prob, can somebody help me before i take this road trip, ne input is greatly appreciated thanks

You should post up some details: year? model? engine? transmission? mileage? any modifications? Other recent work on the engine?

OMG! i cant believe i forgot the facts sorry bout that. Its a 1996 4runner sr5 5sp 3.4 v6 340,000km regular maintenance done all the time no aftermarket mods truck ran great b4, thx.

Hopefully it's something easy and not a low compression issue. Did you also replace the spark plugs with the wires?

So start with cleaning your throttle body.. HaveBlue's Throttle Body Cleaning

Don't forget electrical cleaner to clean the gunk off your MAF sensor, just behind the air cleaner. How-to Clean Your MAF (FJ Cruiser) - YotaTech Forums it's an FJC, but you get the point.

Are you getting any check engine lights (kinda odd if you're not). But have an auto parts store check for codes anyway, that will tell you alot.

thx guys it turned out to be the spark plugs, guess just changing the wires wasnt enuf, she runns great again woot!
