So, I'm getting ready to get onto the expressway about 2 hours ago and, as I'm pulling out of the parking lot into traffic, the truck cuts off....
Okay, I think. Odd, but dump it into neutral and start it back up. It won't. Luckily I have enough momentum to get back into the lot. I turn the truck completely off and then restart it. It starts, but the accelerator won't rev the engine. I jump out and look to see if everything is connected underneath and also under the hood. Looks good. I do notice, however, that the check engine light, the VSC light, and VSC Off light, are all on.
I jump back in the rig and try to rev it again....nothing. I put the pedal to the floor and it finally responds. It wouldn't respond to anything less than pedal to the floor.
I cut it off and then started it to see if anything changed (5 mins in between). Nothing. I cut it on again and try again. nothing but pedal to floor response. I decide to try to see how it drives in the parking lot. I hit the gas and nothing. I floor it and it lunges forward, but does not maintain acceleration. It sputters and responds again, but not responding to anything less than pedal down.
I cut it off again and just sit there comtemplating my next move. I decide to call the dealer it was serviced at. They can take an appt, but before I asked for a tow, I tried one last time. It started and responded to gentle reving. I told them I was on my way. Had the problem happened on the expressway, it could have been very bad.
Needless to say, I'm currently at the dealer using one of their "courtesy computers." Don't want to get "Dealerized..."
Any thoughts, Gents??
