The blue tooth on my phone is always hit or miss in my 2010 LC. One time, it might actually work, and i can talk on the phone via bluetooth. Next time, nope. Totally random. The screen is showing that it is working yet I can't hear anything.

Music? I haven't had blue tooth music for months now - it just quit working.

Is there some major reset that I need to do to get all of this working as it should, or is this kind of my lot with the 2010 LC?

I have a 2010 as well. Occasionally after an IOS update (iPhone) I’ll have some quirky issue. I’ve found is I delete my phone from the cars system, then set up new, the problem goes away. Might give that a shot.

Not sure if system is same for LX vs LC, but there are separate bluetooth connections that needed to be made to make both phone and music work. Speaking at least for 10 LX, I would remove any existing phones from the LC and the LC from your phone. Then additionally under Settings->Music Player remove any connections there too.

On the LX, I first pair the phone under the 'phone' settings portion, then after it is paired there it needs to be separately added as a music player under settings and paired again there.

My guess would be that one of those connections got lost on one side or the other and it's trying to reestablish connections that aren't there....so basically, make sure you remove the connections from both the LC and the phone, and start over and make sure to pair the phone portion first and then the media player portion.

Bumping an old thread up as it was the closest I could find for this question: on my '11 LX at start-up, my phone automatically connects to Bluetooth for calls, but the Bluetooth music connection requires a separate, manual connection. To do that, I have to turn Bluetooth off on my phone, hit the connect button in the BT audio section of the infotainment, and then turn it back on my phone. After I do that, it'll pair to my phone for calls and music for the rest of the drive.

Is that procedure just normal for an older LX, or am I doing something wrong? I'd love to have the music just connect automatically the same way the phone does.

You shouldn't need to manually redo any of the connection every time. If you have an android phone you should be able to specify what type of connection (calls, media etc) in the bluetooth settings. I vaguely recall needing to do that separation to make sure that it connected properly. I don't connect that way anymore as I put a GROM in so the media connection is to the GROM, but voice is still to the LX. Check the connection type, I do know that I had to pair them separately (voice and media) to get it working.

Huh. I’m on a iPhone and don’t seem to see a way to specify anything in there. Maybe there’s a setting in the infotainment system

On iOS I think you can set the Bluetooth profile which should be similar and set call to just headset I believe which would I think limit media

I think that’s where this gets tricky - both the audio and phone connect on a single Bluetooth connection called CAR MULTIMEDIA.

It’s just that when I turn the LX on only the phone automatically works through that connection. I have to do the steps in my first post to get audio and phone to both work.

In yours do you have separate areas to pair the phone for both calls and media or just one place? Mine is a 2010 and separate, one is under phone, and the other is under portable player.

I believe on mine I can rename the media connection in the car. See if that's an option for you. Otherwise if you haven't tried it I'd try deleting the connections in the car and from your phone and try starting over.

Slightly OT; but for those using the Tunai firefly bluetooth audio adaptor for iPhone connectivity (in an '08 in this instance), did you delete your bluetooth connection to the phone and rely on the Tunai for all connectivity (phone calls, maps, audio, etc)?
