got a used m8000 winch in a trade. after hooking it up i found out that it does not work. i called warn and he gave me a diagram to bypass the winch remote and test the motor. i was able to test the motor, and it works just fine. that gave me the impression that my winch remote was bad, so i ordered a new one and when i plugged it in nothing happened whatsoever. my only guess is that its something to do with a solenoid in the control box. is there a way to test them, or is there a diagram of how it should be wired up so i can compare what i have to what its 'sposed to be?

i searched a bit but was not successful.
thanks in advanced

There are a few video's on youtube.com search for winch solenoid. Fairly simple. I had a similar problem. Mine was the three wire switch which calls for the solenoid base plate to be grounded. I grounded the plate and worked fine. I know some of the more modern 4 and 5 wire switches do not call for the solenoid baseplate to be grounded. I can't imagine that all four of your solenoids are bad. Warn can help you. Their customer service is AWESOME!

Ok I'll tey the YouTube route and see what I can find. When I called warn, the guy was helpful and was able to explain to me how to test the motor. He even sent me a diagram via email. I have the wire grounded, but I'm gobna try a new spot to ground it. Maybe that's all it is I hope.

Ok Ive tested the motor and it works, tested each solenoid per warns instructions and they all have cont. Tried a new remote
I'm stumped!!
