I was lucky enough to fly and ride with some of the Mud members running the Dusy Ershim trail couple of weeks ago. There is a nice trail report with pics at https://forum.ih8mud.com/trails-eve...dusy-ershim-2010-trip-report.html#post5820433

This is a very tough trail for sure and I'd classify it as tougher than the Rubicon due to it's relentless nature. It's only 33 miles long but it took us three days to run it. There were no carnage to speak except the usual body damages. 37" tires were the min and one of the 80s had 42s  He too incurred body damages due to being so tall. The taller you are, the more you sway and hit the trees!

Wow - that's quite the trail! Looks like you would want some very large tires to even have a chance at it. The roof racks with their high center of gravity were making me nervous. I guess nobody flopped, but it sure looked like they came close. Beautiful scenery, but that's one tough trail.

Nice to see all those built 60s on the trail for a change.

yup, the 60's did great. The white one was lower but still had 37" tires so it did really well w/o incurring any damages up high. The tires were millitary good year on 16.5" rims and were more like a larger 36" rather than a true set of 37"s.

The blue 60 with the 2F sucked the gas down like it's water at that elevation. His marlin crawler box kept the RPMs very high during the entire trip which contributed to the fuel consumption.
