Looking for a good spot to tap a trigger wire for an aftermarket backup camera. I tried tapping the reverse light, but for some reason, it caused my reverse lights to stop working. I think it's probably best/easier to tap the trailer plug but I need help identifying the correct wire. Does anyone have a diagram?

Thanks

Curious about this as well

When I added the rear steel bumper with tire carrier, I had to relocate the camera on account of the spare being right in front of the license plate and hence camera.
I just cut the wire to the camera a purchased some for 4 stranded wire, add about ~3 feet to feed from the rear door to the where I mounted the camera between the spare tire carrier and jerry can mount. Soldered and shrink wrapped each connection, works great! I first tried using an old USB cable but the wires in the cable were not a large enough gauge, thus spotty camera performance. When I got the heavier gauge wire, it all worked great.
So from my preamble, I'd suggest pulling the plug to the rear camera, get something small to attache to each of the (male/female) connectors, one at a time and see what you get. When you figure it out, then strip and pull back some of the insulation on the wire you need and tap into it.

Check out my build here starting at Post # 74: Builds - R²M 2013 GX 460 Overland Build - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/r-m-2013-gx-460-overland-build.1104719/page-4
Although I only show when I used the USB cable before I did it again with a heavier gauge 4 strand wire cable.
