Hello again. 👋🏼 After selling Treebeard I bounced around between vehicles a bit. I had a lot of fun and learned a few things but never really loved another vehicle like I loved my FJ60. I still don’t (and never will) but this Rivian R1T comes damn close. It’s a wildly different truck, of course, and I love it for altogether different reasons.

As of today I’ve had "Treeline" for exactly one month and already have some good adventures to write up. I’m expecting this thread to be a lot less “help, how do I fix this” and a lot more “check this out”, "that was fun", and “charging doesn’t suck that much, actually.” For now, here’s the build so far:
  • Truck
    • 2022 Rivian R1T Adventure Trim (quad motor)
    • Glacier White exterior, Forest Edge interior
    • Off-road package (20” wheels, reinforced underbody shield, full-size spare)
    • Full XPEL Stealth PPF to self-heal pinstripes
  • Megawatt Sliders
  • iKamper Skycamp Mini 3.0 mounted over the bed on Rivian crossbars
  • Midland MXT275 under the rear seat with a Midland MXTA25 mounted on the hood
  • Dometic CFX3 35 in the bed powered by an Ecoflow Delta Mini
  • OEM 20” all-terrain wheels with… well, I’m up to three different sets of tires already
    • Original: Pirelli Scorpions (I wanted something stronger)
    • Next: Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT (a rock slashed two sidewalls near Mazourka Peak)
    • Now: Toyo Open Country AT3 EV (hoping for the best)
Soon I’ll write up my trip to buy the truck and the Death Valley trip that I’m on right now. Spontaneous flights, long highway drives, bombing forest roads, drift mode in the desert, nights spent alone with flat tires, oh my. Should be fun.

Very cool. Excited to see and read more. Just my personal take, but these things seem to me like the spiritual successor to the Land Cruiser, especially after the departure of the 200 series. Love that they're electric and look awesome.

I've got almost 19K on my 2023 R1T Performance Dual motor in silver on 21's (Michelin Defenders). I'm in the Southeastern US so no a lot of adventure down here, but love it for road trips and easy of storing/using gear in all the space. Recently grabbed a 1up rack I mount on bars over the bed like your RTT. Traded my 15 LX570 and that was an amazing road trip vehicle, but the R1T is even better somehow

This is the second of three EV's for the family so far (17 Mercedes B250E & 2025 Model Y) with the Y and Rivian still around.
