The Travel Channel is coming to film Bessingers, the food and its awesome customers Sunday October 18th between the times of 12 and 5. We may be able to narrow the time window later. They are wanting to get some regular customers and groups of customers, new and old for customer interviews as they eat.
If you want the opportunity to be on a popular food television show, and at the same time help a local business, then please consider coming and bringing people that you know with great personalities who know of Bessinger's BBQ. They are looking for personality. So, lets PACK the house!!!! We would be highly grateful for the support and if you are able to commit please let me know. They are wanting to feature the customers eating the Big Joe pork sandwich, Pork Platter or Rib Platter.

Anyhow, that's the weekend of the Black Balsam Knob trip. We return on Sunday. If we can get back in time, Rae and I will be chowing down at Bessinger's for supper. We're always in search of the best ribs. And by "we" I really mean "I".

By the way, I was stopped yesterday while leaving work in the 100. I met the guy that did the installation of the stereo - he must work at Boeing. Did he also do the video camera? I need that thing relocated - it's tough to see around the spare tire...

I'll be traveling with work not getting in until after midnight Friday, so I can't go to Black Balsam, which means I can be there Sunday. Keep us posted on the details. I heard they're filming Southern Charm 3 now, so this isn't some ploy to get us on that deplorable show is it?

I don't want to take any attention away from Michael's restaurant... But... If we could convince the Travel Channel Execs to do a slightly more tasteful version of Alaska Off Road Warriors... If nobody has a ramp, I'll bring a jack. And I'll volunteer Erik's FJ40 to be the expedition rig. I know, it's a lot to ask, but I don't mind volunteering his rig just this once. I think "Naked Off-Roading in the Patagonia" could catch some good viewership!

It went well. Got to work at 4:00am, film crew got there at 6:00am and left at 8pm. It was an exhausting day and they worked me like a Hebrew slave.

My excuse is much more lame... I came back early from Black Balsam so the wife could go to Jacksonville and I could watch the dogs. She planned to be home early so we could go, but got back too late. Sorry, Michael.
